Western Grid Group releases transition plan to clean energy

The Clean Energy Vision Project charts a sustained, orderly transition from coal and gas to more jobs, better health and true energy security. Investing in diverse, indigenous and inexhaustible resources and modernizing our grid is the best way to revitalize the economies of every western state. Moving to clean energy reduces emissions and protects the West’s wildlife, water and ecosystems.

On August 6, 2018, Western Grid Group, Sierra Club, DL Energy, Gridworks, Western Resource Advocates, NW Energy Coalition, Vote Solar and Natural Resources Defense Council sent a letter to Commissioners, Chairs, and Leadership of FERC, WECC, and NERC regarding the future of a Western Interconnection with multiple reliability coordinators. The groups expressed their concerns and recommendations regarding the likely potential of a future for the Western Interconnection that will involve the management and coordination of multiple Reliability Coordinators.
