Western Grid Group, Western Resource Advocates (WRA), Renewable Northwest, Sustainable FERC Project (S-FERC), Northwest Energy Coalition and Environmental Defense Fund filed joint comments on West-Wide Governance Pathway Initiative a proposed entity, governed independently, that can deliver market services throughout the West, including California.
Comments were submitted by WGG, WRA, NWEC, RNW, EDF & UCS responding to the West-Wide Governance Pathway Initiative Initial Evaluation Framework for Pathways Options, dated December 15, 2023
WGG, Utah Clean Energy, Western Resource Advocates, NW Energy Coalition and +350 Bay Area wrote a letter to Secretary Raimondo recommending a decisive rejection of a tariff that hinders solar development.
In its comments, WGG requested that the filings be rejected due to the fact there has been no opportunity for public comment on this issue and no demonstration of the need for changes proposed. Review the comments as submitted here.
On August 6, 2018, Western Grid Group, Sierra Club, DL Energy, Gridworks, Western Resource Advocates, NW Energy Coalition, Vote Solar and Natural Resources Defense Council sent a letter to Commissioners, Chairs, and Leadership of FERC, WECC, and NERC regarding the future of a Western Interconnection with multiple reliability coordinators. The groups expressed their concerns and recommendations regarding the likely potential of a future for the Western Interconnection that will involve the management and coordination of multiple Reliability Coordinators.
WGG completed and distributed a white paper that profiles several states using Social Cost of Carbon values in utility cost/benefit analysis for regulatory or policy purposes. The document outlines the enactment mechanisms, applications, values, and relevant statutes/rules for each state.
March 22, 2018. Western Resource Advocates, Western Grid Group and Natural Resources Defense Council submitted comments on CAISO’s February 22, 2018 paper on DAY-AHEAD MARKET ENHANCEMENTS
AND EXPANSION TO THE EIM.
WGG joined other Public Interest Organizations in filing comments to FERC on Docket No. RM16-6-000 FERC-2016-1609:
FERC Essential Reliability Services and the Evolving Bulk Power Systems – Primary Frequency Response.
On November 20, 2015, the Western Grid Group submitted comments on the the issue paper for the Transmission Access Charge Options Initiative proposed by the California ISO.
