WGG, NRDC and NWEC file comments on CAISO straw proposal

Western Grid Group (WGG) filed comments on March 16, 2016 in response to California ISO’s straw proposal for Regional Resource Adequacy (RA). The proposal describes a framework for expanding the ISO into a regional, multi-state operation while ensuring there are adequate resource capabilities to reliably operate the system. WGG supports many aspects of the ISO’s proposal, but also calls for improvements to the overall RA framework that would increase efficient utilization of transmission infrastructure and better facilitate adoption of the ISO tariff by new entrants to the expanded Regional System Operator.

The Natural Resources Defense Council and Northwest Energy Coalition also signed-on and contributed to WGG’s comment paper.
